Dinas Bran

Dinas Bran meaning crow castle is the name given to the hillock that over looks the town of Llangollen. The old castle ruins sit on top and can clearly be seen on the approach to the town. The hillock was clearly chosen for its steep sides and view of the valley below

Llangollen Canal

The waterway begins at Horseshoe falls a mile or so out of town and passes through the town below Dinas Bran. A boat trip along the World Heritage waterway to cross Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the highest aqueduct in Britain is not for the faint hearted. Alternatively you can take a horse drawn boat trip for a more leisurely trip on the canal.
